Remodeling is a very imperfect world.  I've had the joy of working with some incredible clients over the last 25 years. We work with 100 different individuals, materials, schedules, shipping, homes that aren't square and that offer surprises along the way, it's an incredible balancing act that isn't for the faint of heart.  The best we can do is to approach it in an organized way, communicate every step of the way, and go with the flow together as a team!
Paula's joy of what she does is infectious! We worked together on a whole house remodel.  I love color and she expertly helped to guide my love of color into a pallet that flowed and fit the architecture and that were more "livable" than what I would've painted on the walls.  We did an amazing large kitchen, dining room, powder bath, primary suite and several auxiliary spaces.  Everything had vintage elements to fit the age of the home.  The process was a rollercoaster but if I had her on my team, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

​We finished a major house remodel that involved adding a second story, completely designing two new floors, and remodeling a basement. Paula was hired to manage the entire design process for us. We choose her for lots of reasons, but primarily because she is a very knowledgeable, positive person who really understood our style and helped us bring it to life in a timely, organized fashion. Because of her experience and network of contacts, she also helped us find a wonderful general contractor and architect that fit us and our project. 

Paula strikes a nice balance between creativity and business sense. She worked closely with our architect to ensure a thoughtful and functional design in the initial phase. She also helped us put together a reasonable, detailed budget for our bank loan and helped us stick to it during implementation. Along the way, there were so many details and decisions to be made and she helped us understand the scope up front and stay on track without getting overwhelmed. Because of her extensive experience, she also greatly simplified everything for us by narrowing our design and material choices and working directly with our contractor on the implementation throughout the project. ​Our kitchen and main floor, in particular, are just amazing and I have a walk-in closet I always dreamed of.

​I would recommend Paula without hesitation for both small and large projects. She is absolutely fantastic and so wonderful to work with. When we started, many people told us horror stories about their remodels. I have to say, though, that we had a great experience and I know it was because of Paula and the rest of her colleagues.

I have known Paula personally for 8 years and over the course of that time I got to know her work ethic, her design ability and her wonderful creative natural sense in her personal life and career. On the first day of construction, the design wasn't complete to the satisfaction of the contractor whom she'd never worked with before. The team treated her with little or no respect and pretty much threw her under the bus from the first day which made the process difficult for everyone involved. Paula corrected the errors at her expense. I was truly impressed with her attitude and accountability. She held her head high throughout the entire stressful project. Overall, despite the horrible construction process, I absolutely LOVE the outcome of my dream kitchen. I believe you will love working with Paula Kennedy. She will design a beautiful happy space.
